"It's wonderful how cricket can work across boundaries to do so much good. Thank you again for this magnificent contribution to the cause."

Zurich Crickets CC vs Winterthur CC (6th August)
This was an excellent 35-over fixture played in the perfect spirit and could not have been closer. Hitting 169, but losing their last wicket in the 30th over, ZCCC's Nic, Oli, Grant, Asad and Moaz all made useful contributions. This was backed up by some excellent bowling with wickets taken by Osama, Oli, Grant, Shaan, Asad and Noorkhan, while Brijesh was denied two! WCC hit the winning runs with 4 balls to spare and with just one wicket in hand.
We will look to organise a similar fixture in September.

The tournament directors selected, based on the coaches' inputs and statistics, the best players in each category at the tournament:
Under 11
Best Bowler: Ethan from Gingins CC with 8 wickets.
Best Batsman: Owen from Zurich Crickets with 63 runs.
Best All-rounder: Euan from Basel Dragons who got 6 wickets, scored a decent number of runs (over 16) and did some good fielding.
Under 13
Best batsman: Sam from Zurich Crickets. Tournament top scorer with 50 runs and was as only out once – batting at no.2 – leaving him with a 50 average for the tournament.
Best Bowler: Mark from Gingins. Mark took 7 wickets in the tournament – the second highest but this included the tournament's only hat trick!
Best Fielder: Veena from Zurich Sapphires. Veena had to keep wicket to some fairly wild bowling and fielding and did so with great enthusiasm and no little skill – regularly putting her body on the line to save byes and over throws.
Best All-rounder: Eden from Basel Dragons. A clear winner. Eden scored the third highest run total at 36 and took a tournament leading 8 wickets for 17 runs – including a match winning 3 for 8 in the final destroying the Zurich top order (who were the leading opening pair and no.1 and 2. batsmen in the tournament). The umpires described his fast, swinging, highly accurate (with no wides or no-balls in the final) opening bowling as truly exceptional.
Under 15
Best Bowler: Ismail from Cossonay CC, who took 6 wickets for 48 (2 more than the closest rival) and nearly single-handedly turned the match against Zurich.
Best Batsman: Kieren from Gingins CC who scored 75 runs , dismissed only once and held together some great run chases
Best All-rounder: Mustafa from Basel Dragons 65 runs, 3 wickets for 24; his innings vs Zurich in the last match was one of savage beauty that put Basel in the driver’s seat from the opening.
